Château des Tours belongs to Emmanuel Reynaud, the nephew of the late, great Jacques Reynaud. Emmanuel is now joint-custodian of Château Rayas, perhaps the most sought-after of all Châteauneuf-du-Pape estates, but he perfected his winemaking at Château des Tours. Given that he trained under his uncle, it is not difficult to understand why Château des Tours wines are so good. The grapes are harvested late, and yields are very low. Vinification is traditional, but highly effective. They are a great introduction to the Reynaud range, and represent superb value for money.
